Hello Folks! So looking forward to the upcoming 55 miles of art. So much to do getting ready for it and looking forward to all of the people sharing the work of so many great artists! Remember October 1-3, 2010, from Navasota thru Bryan /College Station, on to Hearne and the Railroad Depot and then on to the galleries in Calvert . (Or vice-versa!) Just made to have fun! See you along the Hwy. 6!

And don’t forget about Downtown Bryan’s Art Step on Friday- it’s just the beginning of a fun weekend exploring the arts in this area!

  4. We can not wait for this event to start!!! There is so much hidden talent and creativity in the Brazos Valley that this really gives a good chance for everyone to see how much we have to offer up close and personal. We’ll be holding a special Art Step event in downtown Bryan that will showcase many artists performing their talents right on the street for everyone to watch. We will also have horse drawn carriages, Texas A&M Jazz Band, and our local Farmers Market. COME EXPLORE THE LIFE AND BEAUTY OF BCS!!!

  5. I can’t wait for the weekend.. I know a lot of the featured artists and they are great. You have to make the trip so can see just how good the guys are . If you are not doing anything Friday night come by and enjoy the nightlife, flounder, shrimp and the live music at The Corner Cafe’ in Navasota.

Take the trip and you can see the works of Russell Cushman of Navasota! He has made Navasota Blues Alley in downtown Navasota the home of his studio and many of his paintings are on display. Russell is known for many murals, paintings & sculpture work in the Brazos Valley. Make his studio and gallery either the start or end of your Hwy 6 art tour Oct 1-3!

Don’t miss the fabulous artworks of the famous Rose Mary Mandrell, who displays her colorful “narrative” and unique introspective works at W.C. Mercantile in GLORIOUS Nav”o’leans”Sota! You might catch a glimpse of Rosie as she paints that day… Rose Mary also has a gallery of her artwork at Westwick Antiques on Washington Avenue near the Navasota DQ. “…Painting is born of nature—or, to speak more correctly, we will say it is the grandchild of nature; for all visible things are produced by nature, and these her children have given birth to painting. Hence we may justly call it the grandchild of nature and related to God.” Leonardo Da Vinci
